Launchpad Chess

Each side has a base hue. base + complement: pawns and knights on the base, bishops and rooks on the opposite hue, queen and king pale. hue spread: pieces fan out around the base. tints: one hue, pawn darkest to king brightest. The Launchpad gets the exact RGB by SysEx; the screen pieces are SVG filled with the same colour.

Press a piece, then press where it goes. Legal squares pulse green, captures pulse orange. Press the piece again to cancel. An illegal press flashes red.
Arrow buttons: ↑ new game · ↓ undo · ← flip · → toggle bot (lights green while the bot plays). The logo shows whose turn it is. Promotion: choose on the right column (queen, rook, bishop, knight) or press anywhere else for a queen.
